My love for style and fashion stems from the old times elegance
and glamour. Classical femininity shows that you know your value. In my opinion a woman has great taste of style when she looks sensual with concealing clothes on.
In the vintage dressing there’s something real,
genuine, because you truly express the time, thoughts, style, feelings. The clothes tell a story.
Still today you should enjoy the clothes: With your dressing you can express a statement, value, sophistication, personality, the "inner" you and/or your feelings of course. You can give something about yourself.
Some of my favourite time period inspirations right now:
Neoclassicism (1790-1800)
This time period suits the kind of message I want to
convey: Tenderness, sensitivity and a piece of heaven.
Nowadays the
maxi-dress, which is starting to become a classic.
The maxi-dress inspires me, because I'm a dreamer... Who wouldn't feel like a princess in an honest dress.
|
Rachel Zoe is the celebity who comes to my mind when I think about maxi-dresses. I love her style |
|
You can wear a maxi-dress on a regular week day - it's practical and you look great, because you can modify really easily almost as you wish. If you are apple shaped the maxi dress can anyway lengthen your legs and make you look thinner. |
Coco Chanel 1920-1954
Studying the history you will find out what kind of
style you like.My style is feministic and classy combined with modern bling and/or edge.
One of the best classic designers is Coco Chanel. You don't have to think about what's in fashion when you're wearing Chanel.

This is ART |

LOOK AT THIS SOPHISTICATION! This is how women should look like on the workplace today :) |

Chanel today:
|
Chanel has been true to it's precious, original style |

Sarah Jessica Parker wearing a modern version of Chanel's classical suit |
1930-1939: The simple and elegant woman
The 30’s stock market crash made the beauty
standards change towards a very slim silhouettes, softened by e.g. furs in the
sleeves. I love this kind of style. Simplicity is beautiful.
And the costumes were tailormade.
Nowadays classic: Slim dresses, furs and scarves.
|
Kate Middleton loves the slim silhouette - I can't blame her | |
|
Classicism: 1930-1944
This style is like a Greece
Goddess –style. Suits lots of women: pure lines
|
What could be more classical than the trenchcoat? You can even see the gorgeous hour-glass figure. |
Christian Dior! The New Look style (1947-1955):
wide hem and soft, round shoulderline
|
What makes a style? - SIMPLICITY, GREAT TASTE and GROOMED ESSENCE |
|
Dior knew how to make a woman look like a lady |
I like Dior also because he had a true fashion for beauty. He wanted every woman to look and feel as beautiful as possible.
Dior's simple elegance today:
|
Lovely femininity, yet personal! |
|
Dior is popular today among celebrities. Every woman could probably wear this jacket! |
|
Simple beauty |
1948-1959
Tailormade clothing was popular again.
Architectural shapes and sculptural silhouette – I love it
Nowadays: The pencil skirt
This style suits the petite Victoria Beckham. The pencil skirt makes a perfect silhouette.
This kind of classical silhouette is a great choice for lots of occassions!
|
Olivia Palermo proves that you don't have to show skin to be sexy and sensual |
|
The actress Nikki Reed shows true style: Classy silhouette combined with a mix of "soft" and "hard" is interesting and looks great |
|
A bolder choice if you want to show some attitude! Kate Hudson rocks the leather skirt. |
|
Already Marilyn knew it - She was never out of fashion and still she's perfect! |
The standards of beauty have
changed over time, but
the history of fashion shows that everyone can look beautiful.
Nowadays
you can dress as you want, but only in vintage stores clothes are
unique. So if you really want to be personal you have to look at the history, be creative
and make
your style, more or less, yourself. Choose clothes, which suit you!
